Pakistani security forces have launched a fresh large-scale military operation in various parts of the Bolan region in Balochistan, with heavy troop deployment and aerial bombardment reported.
According to sources, the latest offensive began in areas including Goni Parra, Yakho, and surrounding localities. A significant number of Pakistani troops have reportedly entered these areas, with military helicopters conducting heavy shelling on suspected militant positions.
This marks a continuation of ongoing operations in the region, where reports of intermittent military activity have emerged in recent days. In May, similar operations were carried out in the Sangan, Jaladi, and adjacent areas of Bolan.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had claimed responsibility for an attack last month targeting Pakistani forces, who were taking part in the operation, in Shor Kund, near the Mach area. According to the BLA, the attack involved a bomb strike on a military vehicle, allegedly killing all 12 personnel onboard. The group also released video footage of the incident through its official media channel, “Hakkal.”
Earlier on Monday, no official statement was issued by the Pakistani military regarding the ongoing operation. Still, later in the evening, the military sources claimed to have killed five alleged militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Goni Para area of Bolan.
The identities of the alleged deceased militants have yet to be ascertained.
