Four people who had allegedly been forcibly disappeared after being detained by Pakistani forces in Kech, Gwadar and Quetta have been recovered and have returned to their homes, according to their families.

Among those recovered were Abdul Razzaq and Safar Khan, sons of Kambar, residents of Buleda, Kech. According to sources, both were allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 17 September 2026. They were recovered from Batt, Buleda, on 19 September.

Meanwhile, Asfand Baloch, son of Dost Mohammad Baloch, a resident of Killi Almas, Airport Road, Quetta, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared on 4 August 2026. He was recovered from Quetta on 20 September.

Another recovered individual, Sameer Akbar, son of Akbar Ali, a resident of Mashkay, Awaran, was allegedly detained and forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on 25 August 2026. He was recovered from Kalanchi Para, Gwadar, on 16 September.

According to the families of all four men, they have returned home following their recovery.

Meanwhile, the protest camp organised by the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) against enforced disappearances entered its 6,366th day outside the Quetta Press Club.

During the camp, Ghulam Rasool Mohammad Hasni, the father of missing person Qari Abdul Samad, participated in the protest and called for his son’s recovery. He said that Qari Abdul Samad, who worked as a teacher at a private institution, was allegedly forcibly disappeared 15 years ago from Gahi Khan Chowk in Quetta.

According to Ghulam Rasool, the family filed legal cases and repeatedly approached senior authorities in an effort to secure information about his whereabouts, but he remains missing. He said the prolonged disappearance has caused severe distress and suffering for the family.

VBMP Chairman Nasrullah Baloch assured the family that the organisation would continue to raise Qari Abdul Samad’s case before the relevant authorities and advocate for his safe recovery.

He urged the government to ensure the recovery of Qari Abdul Samad and all other missing persons and to provide families with information regarding the whereabouts of their loved ones.

Enforced disappearances remain a longstanding and contentious issue in Balochistan. Families of missing persons, human rights organisations and advocacy groups have for years alleged that individuals are detained by Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies and subsequently held incommunicado, while authorities have repeatedly denied involvement in many cases or attributed disappearances to other factors. The issue continues to be a central concern for rights groups and affected families across the region.
