The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has released a video through its official media channel, Hakkal, showcasing a deadly attack on a Pakistani military convoy in the Balgatar-Bonistan region of Panjgur, Balochistan. The ambush took place on May 9 and involved the use of advanced weaponry and thermal scopes, resulting in significant casualties for the Pakistani armed forces.
According to the BLA, the attack was part of a coordinated offensive under the second phase of its campaign titled “Operation Herof.” As part of this phase, BLA fighters reportedly carried out 78 attacks across 58 different locations throughout Balochistan.
These attacks, according to the group’s statement, included the seizure of security checkpoints, road blockades, direct assaults on military outposts, confiscation of weapons, and attacks on vehicles transporting natural resources out of Balochistan.
The video footage released shows Pakistani military vehicles, including three trucks and motorcycles, coming under intense fire. Armed BLA fighters can be seen targeting soldiers directly with precision weapons. A drone (quadcopter) was also shown being shot down mid-air by BLA fighters. One of the military vehicles is seen engulfed in flames following the assault.
BLA’s spokesperson claimed that at least 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the attack.
There has been no official statement yet from the Pakistani military regarding the incident.
