The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has announced a three-day sit-in protest at Shaheed Fida Chowk in Turbat from February 9 to February 11 to protest the rising incidents of alleged extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and targeted assassinations across Balochistan.

In a video message, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, the BYC organizer, urged families of victims of extrajudicial killings to attend the sit-in and register their cases.

She said that targeted killings in Balochistan were increasing at an alarming rate, citing the recent shooting of MPhil student Allah Dad Baloch in Turbat as an example.

“Our silence is enabling the state of Pakistan to accelerate its barbarism against the Baloch people,”she said, calling on the Baloch people to raise their voices against state repression and further organize their struggle.

List of Recent Killings

In a statement, the BYC said the protest aims to draw attention to a series of recent killings, including:

  • Allah Dad Baloch, an MPhil student, assassinated in Turbat.
  • Zakriya, killed in Gwadar.
  • Israr Rashid, killed in Turbat.
  • Ittefaq, killed in Turbat.
  • Naveed, killed in Buleda.
  • Zareef, killed in Tump.

The BYC said that these killings, along with a continuing wave of enforced disappearances, reflect a systematic campaign to silence Baloch voices and eliminate intellectuals, activists, and youth.

The BYC said the awareness camp in Turbat serves as a platform to amplify voices against state oppression and demand accountability.

“The BYC camp stands against the genocide of the Baloch people. It is a call for justice, a clear assertion that Baloch lives will not be erased without accountability,” the statement said.

The camp will continue for three days, featuring discussions, awareness sessions, and solidarity gatherings, the BYC added.

The BYC reaffirmed its commitment to resisting enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings, stating that protests will continue until justice is served.
