An improvised explosive device (IED) attack killed at least two Pakistani troops and injured four others in the Dasht area of Balochistan’s Kech on Wednesday.

According to reports, the explosion targeted a military vehicle near Zarren Bugh, a location between Turbat and Gwadar. The forces were reportedly escorting Arab nationals visiting the region for a hunting expedition.

The deceased were identified as Naib Subedar Zaman and Lance Naik Umar Zahoor. The injured include Naik Naeem, Sepoy Javed, Amin, and Waheed, according to local sources.

The attack follows a similar incident on December 20 in the Kolwah area of Kech, where Pakistani security forces escorting Qatari nationals were targeted. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) claimed responsibility for that attack.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch warned Gulf nations, including Qatar and Oman, to avoid visiting Balochistan for hunting expeditions, describing the region as a conflict zone.

“The current situation makes Balochistan unsafe for visitors,” the spokesperson said. “We urge foreign nationals to refrain from activities that risk entangling them in this conflict.”

The group accused Pakistan of using foreign guests to create mistrust between the Baloch people and neighboring countries. It reiterated its commitment to defending Balochistan’s sovereignty and emphasized that the Kolwah attack targeted only security personnel, with no harm intended to foreign visitors.
