Two individuals reportedly went missing from Dera Ghazi Khan, on Tuesday.
According to reports, Pakistani forces have allegedly forcibly arrested two people and moved them to an unknown location. The detainees have been identified as Barkat Baloch, s/o Ahmed Ali, and Hafeez, s/o Muhammad.
Local sources stated that on May 7th, Pakistani forces detained the aforementioned individuals, after which their whereabouts remain unknown.
According to sources, both victims are cousins and are involved in the diesel business.
It should be noted that three years ago, Pakistani forces detained Barkat Baloch from Lahore city, but he was released after one week. Now, once again, he has gone missing.
It is pertinent to mention that enforced disappearances are not uncommon in Balochistan. More than 55,000 people are missing from different areas of Balochistan. However, this number does not stop here, as the reports of enforced disappearances are increasing day by day. International Human Rights organizations, including the United Nations and Amnesty International, as well as the families of the victims, accuse Pakistani forces of enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
