An incident of firing occurred at the Check Post in the Sibi region of Balochistan, according to police sources, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Khalid Marri was killed in the firing. He had been associated with the Counter Terrorist Department (CTD) of Police for quite some time.

According to the police sources, one assailant, injured in the firing by the DSP’s guard, has been arrested in critical condition.

Police stated that the attackers opened indiscriminate firing on the vehicle, resulting in DSP Khalid Zaman receiving six bullets.

Police revealed that one of the assailant fled the scene in injured condition after the incident, but later the police tracked down and apprehended the suspect in a wounded state from Nishtar Road.

Senior journalist Mian Yousaf’s vehicle was also hit in the firing but no casualties and injuries were reported immediately.
