Residents of Zahedan protested on Friday against attacks on Baloch populations by Iran and Pakistan.
After the Friday prayers in Zahedan, Baloch residents took to the streets to protest against aerial attacks on Baloch residents on both sides of the border by the Islamic Revolutionary Guards of Iran and the Pakistani military. The demonstrators raised intense slogans against both countries and marched on various streets of the city.
During the protests, the demonstrators chanted slogans such as ‘Death to Iran’ and ‘Death to Pakistan.’ The protesters stated that the indiscriminate killing of Baloch people is ongoing on both sides of the border, with the direct involvement of both Iran and Pakistan. In recent attacks, Iran targeted the Baloch population in Eastern (Pakistani-administrated) Balochistan. In response to those attacks, the Pakistani military also carried out aerial strikes in Western (Iranian-administrated) Balochistan, resulting in the killing of Baloch women and children on both sides of the border.
The protesters asserted that both Pakistan and Iran are involved in Baloch genocide, and the killing of Baloch people is taking place on both sides. During this period, the demonstrators also vehemently chanted slogans against the Iranian government. They expressed that a “state-sponsored massacre against the Baloch has begun in Iran, but regardless of where it happens, Baloch voices will raise against it.”
