In Balochistan’s Kech district, gunmen carried out four separate attacks on Pakistani forces in the last 24 hours, resulting in casualties for Pakistani forces.
According to reports, unidentified armed men ambushed a Pakistani Army convoy in Zamuran town of Kech district and seized their equipment. Regional sources told TBP that the Pakistan Army suffered casualties in the attack.
Independent sources report that the attackers also took the arms and other military equipment of the deceased Pakistani soldiers with them. However, neither military officials have confirmed the incident nor has any armed group claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
In another similar development, armed men ambushed a convoy of Pakistani forces in Mand tehsil of Kech district. Meanwhile, the “pro-independence” Baloch armed group Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took credit for the attack.
In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Gohram Baloch said that on Thursday, around 1 pm, in the Shepchar, Mand area of Kech, BLF fighters ambushed a Pakistani Army convoy consisting of three vehicles. One vehicle came under severe attack in which all the personnel on board were killed and injured, “while the remaining two vehicles were also damaged. The Sarmachars (freedom fighters) also targeted the checkpost established near enemy forces, resulting in casualties to the enemy army,” added BLF spokesperson.
Before this, another “pro-independence” Baloch armed group claimed responsibility for targeting a Pakistani forces’ post in Turbat, the main city of Kech district, on Wednesday.
Jeeyand Baloch, the spokesperson for the group, in a media statement, said that BLA fighters fired several rounds of grenade launchers at a military post of the “occupying” army at Airport Chowk. As a result of the explosions, at least three Pakistan army personnel were injured.
As of the time of this report, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has not confirmed or denied the attacks.
