An FIR has been filed in Kohlu against participants of the ‘Long March against Baloch Genocide,’ a move mirroring earlier incidents in Naal and Khuzdar. The complaint was lodged by a Frontier Corps (FC) official.

The FIR names several individuals, including social leader Mir Nemat Marri, Baloch Students Organization member Mola Bakhsh Marri, and journalist Nazar Baloch Qalandrani. The accusations include chanting anti-army slogans and inciting public sentiment.

This action in Kohlu follows the pattern of FIRs filed in Naal and Khuzdar against activists like Sammi Deen Baloch, Dr. Sabiha Baloch, and Gulzar Dost. These earlier FIRs charged the Long March participants with defaming the Pakistani security forces, alleging connections to ‘terrorism’ and foreign agencies.

Reacting to the FIR, Sammi Deen Baloch, stated that the registration of FIRs against peaceful protesters shows the authorities’ growing panic. She reaffirmed the peaceful nature of the march, focused on seeking justice for missing persons in Balochistan.

The Long March, which commenced in district Kech in response to alleged extrajudicial killings of Baloch missing persons, reached Quetta last week and is now making its way through Dera Ghazi Khan, with Islamabad as its destination. The march has remained peaceful, notwithstanding the increasing use of force by Pakistani authorities and legal obstacles.
