Participants of the long march, protesting against the ‘Baloch genocide’, enforced disappearances, and the killing of detained individuals, have successfully reached Dera Ghazi Khan, overcoming multiple blockades.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reported that despite state-imposed challenges, including blockades, acts of violence, and other forms of inhumane treatment, the long march convoy successfully arrived in D.G. Khan.

Notably, attempts were made to halt the march at the Dera Sakhi Sarwar checkpoint. In addition, prior to the march’s arrival in Dera Ghazi Khan, police raids targeting individuals welcoming the Long March resulted in several arrests.

In a direct response, march participants have now blocked the road to Balochistan in Dera Ghazi Khan. They are demanding the immediate release of those detained in connection with the march.

Dr. MahRang Baloch, addressing the gathering, called for the prompt release of all individuals arrested in Dera Ghazi Khan and requested their presence at the sit-in site.

In protest against the state’s aggressive and arrest-focused tactics, especially against women and elders in D.G. Khan, a sit-in has been organized for tonight (Sunday) in the city.

Organizers are calling on residents from nearby areas, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Taunsa, Rajanpur, and Sakhi Sarwar, to join the sit-in, emphasizing solidarity and support for the cause of the long march.
