In Quetta, a sit-in protest by the family of Naseebullah Achakzai, along with Pashtun nationalist parties, has been underway outside the Governor’s House. This protest follows the alleged police encounter death of Naseebullah on Sirki Road, as reported by the police.

The family of Naseebullah disputes the police’s account, labeling his death as “judicial murder.” They claim that Naseebullah was falsely accused of theft, then killed in police custody, contradicting the official claim of a police encounter. Consequently, they have initiated a continuous protest in the Red Zone of Quetta, demanding an inquiry into his death and holding the responsible officers accountable.

The protestors, including Naseebullah’s family, are determined to continue their sit-in outside the Governor’s House and the Chief Minister’s House, with Naseebullah’s body, until their demands for a fair and transparent investigation are addressed.

Despite promises from Balochistan’s caretaker Information Minister Jan Achakzai and police officials of a thorough investigation, the family remains steadfast in their protest, seeking immediate and substantial action to investigate Naseebullah’s death.

The participants of the sit-in have voiced their frustration over the delayed response to the incident, despite commitments made by the caretaker Chief Minister. The ongoing protest, highlighting concerns over police encounters in the region, persists as the family and supporters call for decisive action towards achieving justice for Naseebullah.
