The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has voiced concerns regarding the alleged activities of “death squads” in Balochistan. They highlight an apparent uptick in these squads’ activities during the current caretaker government’s tenure, suggesting they act as an unofficial extension—or “B-Team”—of the state.

In a detailed statement, the central spokesperson of the BYC shed light on the severity of the situation, stating that the purported endorsement of these “death squads” under the current caretaker government has effectively transformed Balochistan into a “security zone.”

Central to their concerns is the claim that the caretaker government, perceived as representing security agencies, has bolstered the presence of such squads. While Wadh is highlighted as a major hotspot for these activities, with evident state involvement, the BYC maintains that these squads operate throughout Balochistan.

The BYC spokesperson further delved into the squads’ historical operations, indicating their existence for over a decade and accusing them of engaging in various human rights violations.

The BYC also criticized political parties, suggesting a trend where their concerns for Balochistan become vocal only when they face political challenges or are out of office.

Concluding the statement, the spokesperson emphasized to the Baloch populace the alleged broader objectives of the state and these “death squads” —primarily, the potential displacement of the Baloch people from their homeland. The BYC stressed the importance of standing resilient against such efforts and urged adopting a path of political resistance to safeguard the Baloch identity and heritage.
