In a series of overnight raids in the Nushki district of Balochistan, five young men have been reportedly forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces. The locals identified the missing individuals as Haq Nawaz, Hamid, Jafar, Aamir, and a minor Umar Yaseen.

Residents described the operations by Pakistani security forces as aggressive, with allegations of physical violence against civilians, including women and children.

This is not the first time Nushki has been in the news for such incidents. Earlier reports also highlighted the alleged disappearance of a young man named Atif from Killi Jamaldini.

In recent times, Balochistan has seen a significant rise in reported cases of enforced disappearances, especially since the beginning of August. Several advocacy groups, including the Baloch Yakjehti Committee and the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, have been vocal about their concerns and have organized demonstrations to raise awareness of the issue.

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) recently held a two-day protest camp outside the Karachi Press Club, culminating in a protest rally. Concurrently, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) held a demonstration in Quetta, highlighting the growing concern over these disappearances. VBMP also expressed concerns about the reported harassment faced by families of the disappeared and their associated female members.
