Baloch National Movement (BNM) Germany Chapter staged a protest and carried out a rally in Hannover observing March 27 as a black day.

According to reports, on this occasion, the participants distributed pamphlets and informed the people about the historical background of Balochistan.

Asghar Ali, the president of the BNM Germany Chapter addressed the audience saying, it is our national duty to keep raising our voices against slavery. Pakistan occupied Balochistan on 27 March 1948, and since then Baloch people are suffering from untold miseries, he said.

He cautioned the Baloch diaspora in Germany saying “this protest here in Germany is not only in solidarity with our people back to the country but also it helps us to grow as a community and it unites us and would keep us connected to our roots.”

Samul Baloch, the vice president of the BNM Germany Chapter said, for decades Baloch nation has been subjected to extreme violence, suppression, and marginalization at the hands of the Pakistani authorities. She further added, “since the occupation of Balochistan in 1948 Pakistan has adopted a policy of colonization and subjugation of Baloch people.” Baloch people have been denied health care and education and Pakistani authorities unleashed a brutal campaign of violence, she added.

She stressed that Baloch people reserve the right to self-determination and freedom according to the UN charter. And this should be respected by the Pakistani state and it is the responsibility of international organizations to respect the right of self-determination of Baloch people against Pakistani colonization, Samul concluded.

Shali Daad, a BNM member said that the people of Balochistan are traumatized due to inexplicable pains and agonies inflicted upon them by the Pakistan Army and its spy agencies. She claimed that Pakistani forces in these 75 years of oppression, have forcibly disappeared thousands of people in Balochistan.

Shali Daad while criticizing the role of media said that international and Pakistani media have turned a blind eye to the grievances of the people of Balochistan.

Ahmed Baloch, another member of the party said, the Baloch People observe the 27th March as a Black day, this is the day when the civilized independent state of Balochistan was occupied illegally and forcefully by the Pakistan Army.

It is pertinent to mention that Baloch nationalists every year observe March 27 as a “Black day” across Balochistan and abroad. Student groups, political parties and families of the affected activists stage protests, rallies and demonstarations every year on this day.
