The Pakistani security forces and others were targeted on Tuesday in separate attacks in the Khuzdar, Harnai, Panjgur, and Lasbela areas of Balochistan causing multiple casualties.
According to reports, two people were killed and eight others injured in a bomb explosion in Balochistan’s Khuzdar city. Police said a vehicle was targeted through an improvised explosive device (IED) on Sultan Ibrahim Road near the Do-Talwar Chowk in the city.
The injured and deceased were shifted to Khuzdar Hospital. A large number of security forces reached the spot and cordoned off the area after the blast. However, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing yet.
In another similar attack, unidentified persons targeted a tractor carrying goods for the Pakistani forces’ post was targeted by a bomb in the Shahrag area of Harnai, and the tractor was reportedly damaged in the attack.
The responsibility for the attack was later taken by a Baloch “pro-independence” group, the Baloch Liberation Army(BLA) in a press release. The spokesperson for the group, Jeeyand Baloch claimed responsibility for the Harnai attack and another attack on a Pakistan army camp in Kolwah town of Balochistan’s district Kech. BLA claimed of having killed three Pakistani soldiers and injured several.
In a separate attack, the Pakistani security forces were targeted in Balochistan’s Panjgur city. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) took responsibility for the attack in a media statement. BLF spokesperson Mjr Gohram Baloch claimed that its fighters hurled a hand grenade bomb at the forces’ checkpost at Kalam Chowk in Panjgur — causing casualties to the forces.
Another Baloch armed’ group, the United Baloch Army (UBA) in a media statement claimed to have targeted a vehicle transporting precious stones from Balochistan to other cities in Pakistan. The group’s spokesperson Mazar Baloch said the attack was carried out in the Khadgolai area of the Lasbela district, which resulted in partially damaging the vehicle.
UBA warned the transporters to avoid taking part in the “looting of natural resources of Balochistan by the hands of the state of Pakistan”.
