A young man was killed and another injured by gunmen in the Dalbandin area of Balochistan’s Chaghi district. The relatives of the victims protested against the incident and accused the armed religious group Jaish ul-Adl responsible for the incident.

According to reports, Sanaullah Notezai was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Dalbandin city on Thursday evening, while another person was injured in the firing – the attackers took the victim’s car with them.

Sources told TBP that the deceased was abducted by Jaish al-Adl some time ago along with the vehicle, who was later released but his vehicle was seized by the group. Sources further said that a few days ago, Slain Sanaullah saw his car in Dalbandin Bazar and after identification, took it back — after which the members of Jaish-e-Adl allegedly shot him dead and seized the vehicle on Thursday evening. The position of Jaish al-Adl has not been revealed in this regard yet.

Relatives of the victims blocked the Dalbandin RCD Highway in protest. The protesters accused the religious militant group Jaish ul-Adl of the incident. They demanded that the police, district administration, and security forces should take action against the accused armed religious group. According to the family members, they have submitted an application to the Dalbandin police station to register a case against five members of the group.

Despite many efforts of the local administrative officials, the protest was not called off. Later, after the assurances by Deputy Commissioner Chagai Hussain Jan Baloch, the RCD highway was restored for traffic by ending the protest. DC approved the protester’s demands and assured them of action against Jaish-ul-Adl. Former Provincial Minister, Ali Mohammad Notezai was also present on this occasion. “We are fed up with the atrocities of Jaish-ul-Adl, the government should ensure its writ or leave us completely at the mercy of Jaish-ul-Adl, even if they oppress or put us in their jails; but if there is a government here, they should ensure their control,” Notezai said

In Chaghi and its adjoining areas, Jaish-ul-Adl is also accused of collecting’ taxes’ from vehicles associated with oil trading and other border businesses. While some sources claim that Jaish-ul-Adl has been provided a safe haven by the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies across Balochistan.
