Lala Faheem, manager of the Ilm o Adab publisher, returned home on Monday after being detained for almost three months.

Faheem was taken into custody allegedly by Pakistani law-enforcement agencies from his bookshop in Urdu Bazar Karachi on August 26 this year. He was kept incommunicado for about three months.

Sources close to Faheem Baloch have confirmed that he was released on Monday in Karachi city of Pakistan.

It is to be remembered that CCTV footage of Faheem’s abduction by Sindh Police and Law Enforcement Agencies from his bookshop came to the surface but the Police and Karachi administration didn’t admit his arrest.

Multiple such cases have been reported throughout Balochistan and Karachi where security agencies have reportedly detained Baloch political activists and other citizens. Many of those forcibly disappeared persons have been killed in “fake encounters” by Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and many are still missing for years.

A campaign group for the Baloch Missing Persons, the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) has demanded the commission for enforced disappearances to investigate the cases involving the LAEs, who are suspected to be behind the enforced disappearances in Balochistan.
