Under the auspices of BSO Mastung zone, a protest rally was carried out in Mastung city of Balochistan and later protest was staged in front of the Press Club.

Addressing the protesters, Nazir Baloch, Chairman of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO) said that anti-social and other negative activities, including drugs have been openly tolerated in Balochistan, including Mastung, with the aim of making Baloch youth victims of negative tactics and paralyse them physically.

He further said that the purpose of such negative conspiracies is to systematically plunder the resources of Balochistan and deprive the people of their rights. Now a new conspiracy is being hatched to create chaos and division among the people of Balochistan. The conspiracy to divide Balochistan into two provinces will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances. Every inch of Balochistan will be defended with the last drop of blood, he added.

He said that the martyrs defended the honour and dignity of Balochistan with their blood and BSO would fulfill the mission of the martyrs.

The speakers said that in order to get rid of the scourge of drugs, it is important for the youth to take the campaign from door to door and create awareness. Government agencies have failed to control the drug trade. Only social consciousness can get rid of this menace. Drugs are being sold in public on markets and highways and the administration has turned a blind eye to these elements and is focusing all its attention on check posts.

Protestors said that there are hundreds of check posts on national highways where only the self-respect of honourable citizens is harmed but drug mafias involved in nefarious drug trafficking are not arrested.

BSO leader said that the movement against drug menace and drug mafias has started from Makran and to further intensify this movement, people are being organized all over Balochistan and the struggle for eradication of this menace is being intensified.

The protestors demanded stern action against drug dens and drug mafias.

It is to mention that massive protests have been erupted against drug trafficking in many areas of Makran region.
