Police and security forces have killed at least 208 people during recent protests in Iran, according to a statement issued by Amnesty International.

Iran, on the other hand, has reported 143 official casualties, while the Iranian opposition estimates that number to be more than 400.

A statement from Amnesty International’s office in London says that the number of deaths in the agitated protests in Iran has reached 208 during mid-November.

Human rights group say its delegates are collecting authentic information to track the actual death toll in Iran.

Amnesty said on Twitter last Friday that the death toll in Iran’s protests has risen to 161, according to earlier estimates that the death toll was 143.

Suddenly, people took to the streets protesting against the rise in fuel prices in Iran.

Iranian security forces used brutal force against protesters during protests that lasted five days. Human Rights organisations claimed that Iranian security forces targeted protesters from helicopters, rooftops and shot killed while chasing them on the streets.
