The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) has claimed responsibility for an explosives attack that destroyed two 220 kV electricity towers and severely damaged two others in Balochistan’s Naseerabad district.
BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said in a statement issued to the media that the group’s fighters targeted the transmission line at Piro Pul near Mir Hassan, which carries electricity from the Uch Power Plant to Punjab.
He said the BRG would continue carrying out such operations “until the independence of Balochistan.”
Pakistani authorities had not issued a statement on the incident at the time of publication.
