The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) has claimed responsibility for an attack that damaged a major gas pipeline supplying fuel from Balochistan’s Sui to Karachi.
In a statement sent to the media, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said that the group’s fighters targeted a 36-inch diameter gas pipeline on the evening of 11 March at a location near Kashmore. According to the statement, explosive materials were used to carry out the attack.
The spokesperson claimed that the explosion caused significant damage to the pipeline, which transports natural gas from Sui to Karachi.
In the statement, the group accepted responsibility for the blast and reiterated its opposition to what it described as the exploitation of Balochistan’s natural resources. The organisation said it would continue actions against such activities.
There was no immediate official response from Pakistani authorities regarding the reported damage or the claims made by the group.
