Pakistan’s military has said that five individuals, including an alleged suicide bomber, were killed during an operation in the Pishin district of Balochistan.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Pakistani military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said security forces conducted an operation in Pishin on 22 February after receiving intelligence reports of militant presence in the area.
According to the statement, an alleged suicide bomber detonated himself following what it described as an intense exchange of fire with security personnel. The ISPR further claimed that four other armed individuals were pursued and killed during the operation.
The military added that weapons, ammunition and explosive materials were recovered from those killed. However, no armed group has so far confirmed any casualties in connection with the operation so far.
