The Baloch Liberation Army has released a video showing Hawa Baloch with her mother in what the group said were her final moments before taking part in “Operation Herof 2.0”.
The footage, published on the group’s media channel Hakkal, identifies Hawa’s mother as Lal Jan. The BLA said her father, Nako Nabi Bakhsh, had been affiliated with the organisation and was killed in 2021.
The two-minute-and-ten-second video shows Hawa standing beside her mother, who places a Balochistan flag over her daughter’s head before the two embrace.
The video also includes a recorded message from Hawa, in which she urges the mothers of Baloch fighters to remain steadfast and support their children’s participation in the armed struggle.
She tells them to be “strong like Lumma Yasmeen” and to comfort their children rather than grieve their deaths, describing their actions as sacrifices made “for the protection of the land.” She says future generations will “live prosperous lives” because of these sacrifices.
The final section of the video shows Hawa and other female members of the BLA’s Majeed Brigade taking part in weapons training and military exercises.
Who Was Hawa Baloch?
Hawa Baloch was born on 13 September 2006 in the Kohad area of Tump in Kech district. She grew up in a politically active household and was the fifth among her siblings. She later attended Government Girls High School Kohad.
People familiar with her background said she had a strong interest in reading and writing from an early age. They described her as an avid reader who often carried books with her and regularly wrote essays, short stories and commentary in the Balochi language.
Friends said she developed a growing interest in social and political issues during her teenage years.
According to the Baloch Liberation Army, Hawa later joined the organisation and was given the code name “Droshum.” The group said she took part in “Operation Herof 2” on 31 January and “entered an enemy military camp on the Gwadar front,” claiming she “fought until her last bullet.”
