The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Saturday announced the start of the second phase of “Operation Herof” across Balochistan.
In a brief statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said the new phase marks a “declaration of decisive resistance” against what he described as “the occupying state and all its military and administrative structures.”
He said that, standing alongside Baloch fighters, the Baloch nation would “defeat the enemy in every city, street and neighbourhood,” adding that the operation aims to demonstrate that “there is no place for the occupier in Balochistan.”
“Operation Herof” was first launched in August 2024 as part of what the BLA describes as a multiphase campaign to “reclaim Balochistan.”
During the first phase, the group claimed to have killed more than 130 Pakistani military personnel and to have seized control of key highways and installations, including a 20-hour occupation of a military base in Bela.
Defence analysts described the operation as the largest coordinated armed action in the history of the Baloch insurgency, during which the BLA claimed temporary control of roads stretching from Makuran to the Koh-e-Sulaiman region.
