The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) said on Friday that its fighters killed six Pakistani soldiers in two separate attacks in Ormara and Surab on 25 December, while the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed a separate grenade attack on police in Kachhi district.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said fighters opened fire on a joint Frontier Corps (FC) and police checkpoint in Surab Bazaar at around 6pm, killing two FC personnel and injuring three others.

The group said its fighters also targeted a Pakistani military camp in the Basol area of Ormara earlier the same evening at around 5pm.

The statement said a BLF sniper team first shot and killed a soldier stationed at the camp’s security post. Minutes later, another squad launched an assault using rocket-propelled grenades and heavy weapons. The group claimed three additional personnel were killed and several others injured.

The BLF said Pakistani forces “opened machine-gun fire and launched mortars in different directions” in retaliation, but added that its fighters withdrew safely after completing the operation.

In a separate statement issued a day earlier, the BLF paid tribute to its fighter Mujahid Siyahpad, also known by the nom de guerre Washeen Baloch, who it claimed was killed by a “state-sponsored death squad” in Kharan on 17 July 2025.

The group said Mujahid joined the BLF in 2018 as an urban guerrilla, played a “pivotal role” in reorganizing its network in Kharan, and left behind “a legacy of strategic warfare and tactical knowledge.”

The statement said the organization would “continue the struggle until the mission of our martyrs is fulfilled.”

Meanwhile, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) said it carried out a grenade attack on police personnel in Dhadar city, Kachhi district, on 26 December.

BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said fighters targeted a police position with a hand grenade, causing “casualties and material losses” to what the group described as “occupying forces.” He said such attacks would continue “until the freedom of Balochistan.”

Pakistani authorities had not issued any statement confirming the reported casualties at the time of publication.
