The Baloch Republican Guard (BRG) has claimed responsibility for bomb attacks targeting railway tracks at two separate locations in Balochistan’s Sibi district, causing damage to rail infrastructure and forcing the suspension of all train services to and from Quetta.

According to official sources, the first explosion occurred near the Mushkaf area of Sibi, where explosive material planted by unidentified individuals detonated, damaging a section of the railway track. District authorities said the blast affected approximately three feet of the track, rendering it unsafe for train operations.

A second explosion was reported at the Kolpur area, where another section of the railway track was damaged in a similar manner. No casualties were reported in either incident.

Following the attacks, railway authorities immediately suspended all train services bound for Quetta. Officials at Quetta Railway Station confirmed that, due to the lack of security clearance from law enforcement agencies, the Jaffar Express traveling from Quetta to Peshawar and the Bolan Mail heading from Quetta to Karachi were cancelled.

Police and security forces reached the affected sites soon after the explosions, cordoned off the areas, and began search and clearance operations. Authorities stated that rail services would remain suspended until full security clearance is granted and repair work is completed.

In a statement issued to the media, the Baloch Republican Guard claimed responsibility for the attacks. A BRG spokesperson said the group’s fighters had planted explosive material along the railway track between Sibi and Dhadar and detonated it as part of their operations. The spokesperson further stated that such attacks would continue until what the group described as the “freedom of Balochistan” is achieved.
