A man was killed in a shooting in the Tump tehsil of Kech district, Balochistan, on Thursday.
According to local reports, armed men entered a house in the Nazarabad area and opened fire, killing a man identified as Altaf, son of Ata, before fleeing the scene.
Regional sources alleged that the attackers were members of groups locally referred to as “death squads,” which are claimed to have links with Pakistani security forces and intelligence agencies.
In recent weeks, incidents of abduction and targeted killings attributed to such groups have reportedly increased across parts of Balochistan, particularly in the Makran region.
Victims are said to include political activists, their relatives, community elders and other residents.
Civil society groups and political organisations have repeatedly urged the authorities to address the issue. However, no concrete government action has yet been reported.
