Armed groups reportedly carried out snap-checking at two locations on major highways and launched multiple attacks on Pakistani security forces in Balochistan on the intervening night between Monday and Tuesday.

According to local sources, armed men established a road blockade and inspected vehicles on the Quetta–Sibi highway in Dasht, about 58 kilometers from Quetta.

In a separate incident, another group blocked the Quetta–Karachi highway in the Kadkocha area of Mastung for several hours. During the blockade, the assailants allegedly abducted an individual and seized his weapon. They also ambushed a reinforcement convoy of Pakistani forces.

Meanwhile, a checkpoint of Pakistani forces reportedly came under attack in the Mitri area of Sibi district, where locals described heavy gunfire and explosions. Authorities have not issued any statement on the incident.

Separately, in Turbat’s Apsar area, unidentified attackers hurled a hand grenade at security forces reportedly engaged in a roadblock, leaving eight soldiers injured. The wounded were transferred to a local hospital.

The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG), an armed nationalist group, claimed responsibility for the blockade in Dasht and the attack on security forces in Sibi, stating that the operation caused casualties and losses to what it described as “occupying forces.”

However, as of the filing of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the highway blockade in Kadkocha or the grenade attack in Turbat. Baloch armed groups have carried out similar attacks for decades as part of an insurgency seeking independence for Balochistan.
