Pakistani forces were targeted in bomb explosions in the districts of Panjgur and Kachhi on Thursday, in which several personnel, including a Subedar, were killed, according to local sources.
In the Kolpur area of Kachhi district, a bomb disposal squad of the Pakistani forces was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED) while clearing a railway track. Another attack reportedly targeted a security vehicle in the same area, but details of that incident have not yet been confirmed.
In Panjgur district’s Parom area, an IED blast targeted a forces’ vehicle as it departed from a post. Local sources said Subedar Abdul Razzaq, along with several personnel, was killed in the explosion.
On the same day in Quetta, armed men detained police personnel in the Mian Ghundi area and seized their weapons. According to local sources, the officers were on routine patrol when they were intercepted, disarmed and later released without harm.
Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a statement regarding the attacks, and no group has claimed responsibility. However, similar attacks in the past have often been claimed by Baloch “pro-independence” armed groups.
