A young man was killed in alleged firing by Pakistani forces in the Buleda area of Kech district, local sources said on Wednesday.
The victim, identified as Bohair, son of Diljan, was reportedly shot dead in the Gilli area of Buleda when troops allegedly opened fire. Eyewitnesses said he was returning home from his fields when the incident occurred. His body was later left at the scene.
Paank, the human rights wing of the Baloch National Movement (BNM), condemned the incident, calling it an “extrajudicial killing.” In a statement, the group said, “On August 20, Pakistani military personnel opened direct fire in the Gilli area of Buleda, resulting in the killing of a young man identified as Bohair, son of Dil Jan.”
The group alleged that the forces opened fire indiscriminately and described the act as “unprovoked and unlawful.”
Balochistan has for years witnessed enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and a broader campaign of repression against those seeking greater autonomy. International human rights organisations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, have documented multiple cases of abductions and killings of Baloch activists, students and intellectuals allegedly carried out by Pakistani forces and pro-government militias.
