In an attempt by Pakistani military forces to reportedly seize private property in the Godi area of Sibi district, armed resistance from local residents resulted in injuries to at least three personnel and the destruction of a military vehicle.
Local sources informed The Balochistan Post that the forces entered the Godi area on Monday and attempted to confiscate property belonging to a man identified as Waleed Hazar Khan, also known as “Soldier.” The property reportedly included a Russian-manufactured tractor.
According to eyewitnesses, the situation escalated when Khan and his relatives resisted the seizure, leading to an armed clash that continued into the night. During the confrontation, three members of the security forces were reportedly injured, and one of their vehicles was set on fire.
Sources added that following negotiations mediated by local elders, the security forces were allowed to retreat from the area under the condition that they leave their vehicles behind. These vehicles were later returned to the locals. As of the time of reporting, district authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
The confrontation comes amid rising tensions in the region, where residents report an increase in state-backed land seizures and intimidation tactics. In recent days, homes in the Sheikhri and Morgand areas of Kalat district were allegedly bulldozed by security forces, who also dismantled tube wells and removed solar panels used by locals for irrigation. Additionally, local sources claim that surrounding forests were destroyed during these operations.
