At least 15 Pakistani military personnel and three fighters from Baloch armed groups were killed in a series of clashes and attacks across Balochistan, according to statements issued by “pro-independence” groups on Thursday.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) said that six Pakistani soldiers were killed and three of its fighters were “martyred” during engagements in Quetta, Kalat, and the Siyaji front over the past week.
In a media statement, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch said that on 22 June, BLA patrol squads clashed with Pakistani forces advancing into the Daghari area of Quetta.
“A fierce battle ensued in which several enemy personnel were eliminated,” the statement read, adding that BLA fighter Sangat Jamshed, also known as Rizwan, was martyred in the confrontation.
Later the same day, BLA fighters reportedly ambushed military convoys in the Kohak area of Kalat using improvised explosive devices (IEDs), followed by a ground assault.
“In the evening, two squads of BLA freedom fighters surrounded enemy personnel on foot and launched a pincer attack. As a result, six enemy soldiers were killed on the spot and several others injured,” the group claimed. BLA fighter Sangat Noroz alias King Najeeb, was killed during the hour-long clash.
The BLA also stated that on 20 June, its fighters on an “organizational mission” in the Lingasi area of Dasht encountered Pakistani forces. In the ensuing firefight, Sangat Munawar Baig alias Meerak was killed.
“The blood of the martyrs is the foundation of the liberation of the motherland. It will become a guiding light for every coming generation. We will never forget the sacrifices of these great fighters—their path is the path of our struggle,” said Jeeyand Baloch.
BLF Claims Operations in Gwadar, Jhao, and Kech
The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) also issued a statement claiming responsibility for coordinated attacks on Pakistani military targets in Gwadar, Awaran, and Kech districts on 25 June.
According to BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch, the group planted an explosive device outside a covert Military Intelligence facility in Gwadar. The blast reportedly killed one operative and injured two others around 10 PM as they entered the compound.
Earlier that day, BLF snipers targeted a checkpoint in the Malai Gazi area of Jhao, allegedly killing one soldier. The attack was followed by a 30-minute rocket and automatic weapon assault. The group said its fighters retreated safely, while accusing military forces of responding with “indiscriminate mortar shelling” on nearby civilian areas.
In Kech district, the BLF said it carried out two simultaneous attacks—one on Koh-e-Barag in Shapok and another on Koh-e-Kalat in Sami—using rocket-propelled grenades and close-range assaults. The group claimed that two soldiers were killed and three others wounded.
BRG Claims Twin IED Attacks
Meanwhile, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) claimed responsibility for two IED attacks targeting military vehicles in Dhadar (Kachhi district) and Naseerabad on 25 June.
In a statement, BRG spokesperson Dostain Baloch said five Pakistani soldiers were killed and several others injured in the blasts.
All three groups reiterated their commitment to continued armed resistance, described the Pakistani military as an “occupying force,” and reaffirmed their call for an independent Balochistan.
Pakistani authorities have not yet issued a statement in response to the claims.
