The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for two separate attacks in Nushki and Turbat, targeting Pakistani military personnel and a member of a so-called death squad. In a statement issued to the media, BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch provided details of the operations.

According to the spokesperson, BLA fighters launched an assault on a key Pakistani military post in the Hazdah Khol area of Nushki on Tuesday night. The attack was carried out simultaneously from two directions using automatic weapons, rockets, and grenade launchers. “The firefight lasted for over half an hour, resulting in the death of three enemy personnel and injuries to at least four others”, Jeeyand Baloch stated.

Meanwhile, another attack took place in Turbat’s Bahman area, where BLA fighters targeted Riaz, son of Niaz Ahmed, a resident of Meeri, Turbat. The spokesperson described him as an operative of a “death squad” formed by Pakistani military and intelligence agencies. The BLA fighters fatally shot him and seized his weapon.

The statement further claimed that the deceased, Riaz, was affiliated with the armed group of Kamran Umar, who was killed by BLA fighters in an operation last December. This group has been accused of involvement in raids on homes, violations of personal privacy, and the enforced disappearances of local youth in collaboration with the Pakistani military.

The BLA alleged that Riaz played an active role in supporting Pakistani forces by assisting in home raids and abductions. He was also reportedly assigned duties such as setting up checkpoints and patrolling in vehicles on behalf of the military. In return, the spokesperson claimed, death squad operatives were granted impunity to engage in illicit activities, including drug trafficking, robbery, and extortion.

The BLA reiterated its commitment to resisting Pakistani military presence in Balochistan, warning of further attacks against security forces and their local collaborators.
