A man in Balochistan’s Dera Bugti district has taken his own life, local sources said.
The man, identified as Lal Jan, son of Doda Bugti, reportedly shot himself near Branch No. 8 of the Kachhi Canal in the Sui area.
While local residents pointed to economic hardship and unemployment as significant factors contributing to suicides in the region, it remains unconfirmed whether these were the reasons behind Lal Jan’s death.
Notably, Dera Bugti, despite its vast reserves of natural gas and other resources, has seen multiple cases in recent years where residents have reportedly taken their own lives due to financial struggles and a lack of opportunities.
