Three Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed, and two others injured in an attack on a military convoy in Balochistan’s Turbat on Thursday morning. The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), a Baloch “pro-independence” armed group, claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to reports, a convoy of Pakistani forces was ambushed in the Absar Bonda Bon Dokurm Padi Road area of Turbat around 9 AM. Local sources reported multiple explosions and heavy gunfire during the attack, which targeted two vehicles and two motorcycles in the convoy.

In a statement released later in the day, the BLF claimed its fighters used rocket-propelled grenades, light machine guns, and sniper rifles in the attack. The group alleged that three soldiers, including Sepoy Ramzan, were killed, and two others, Naik Shamsuddin and Lance Naik Amanullah, were critically injured. The statement also claimed that a rocket shell hit a military vehicle and a motorcycle, causing them to catch fire.

Turbat police confirmed the attack and the casualties but declined to provide additional details.

BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group’s fighters successfully retreated after the attack. He accused Pakistani security forces of retaliating against civilians in nearby areas, alleging that several residents were detained and others subjected to violence.

In its statement, the BLF expressed regret over any harm caused to civilians during the attack and urged local residents to maintain a safe distance from military personnel. “We appeal to our people to avoid proximity to the enemy and ensure their safety so that our struggle does not result in harm to the Baloch people,” the statement read. “This struggle is for the Baloch nation, and we do not want our attacks to cause them suffering.”

The group described the attack as part of its ongoing resistance against the Pakistani state. “This operation reflects the superior strategy and guerrilla tactics of our fighters,” said BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch. “The Balochistan Liberation Front is committed to targeting enemy forces until the achievement of an independent Balochistan.”
