The Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan has been granted the powers and responsibilities of customs officers, according to a notification from Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
The notification, issued on Friday, states that FC Balochistan (North and South) officers will operate as customs officers within their jurisdictions across the region until June 30, 2025. This delegation of authority enables FC personnel to enforce regulations under the Customs Act within Balochistan.
The FBR’s decision effectively transfers customs enforcement responsibilities from civilian customs officials to the paramilitary FC. The powers granted to the FC are restricted to operations within Balochistan.
The new regulations have taken effect following the issuance of the notification.
