Balochistan Chief Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, during his speech at the assembly session yesterday, questioned why the name of BLA (Baloch Liberation Army) was removed from the resolution, asking if these attacks were not carried out by the BLA. He emphasized that its very name is the Baloch Liberation Army.
He urged the assembly to decide whether they want to support the idea of an independent Balochistan, saying that if so, they should take a clear stand, while he and others advocate for Pakistan and the federation.
Bugti expressed concern, stating that “if God forbid, Balochistan were to become independent, it would struggle as a state that has been unstable for the past seventy years.” He questioned how the Baloch people would survive in such circumstances.
He claimed that he is sending a Baloch girl to England for a PhD, while others are encouraging a Baloch law student to wear a suicide jacket. He emphasized that the Baloch people will have to decide whether Bashir Zeb is doing a better job or they are.
Bugti accused certain elements of organizing a conspiracy against the state, leading the youth of Balochistan towards violence.
He asserted that Balochistan could not become independent and that Pakistan would remain intact forever. He stressed that the state cannot be destabilized through violence.
