In the Mastung district of Balochistan, armed assailants shot and killed Sarawan Press Club official and journalist Nisar Ahmed Lehri, who was associated with the news agency Online.
According to reports, journalist Nisar Ahmed Lehri was on his way to his under-construction house in the village of Killi Gulkand in Mastung this morning when he was targeted. He was shot dead on the spot.
The deceased was transferred to the Civil Hospital, and after the necessary formalities, the body was handed over to the family.
Initial police reports suggest that the murder was related to a land dispute. The police are conducting raids to apprehend the suspects.
The Press Club has condemned the incident, demanding the arrest of the culprits and calling for protection for journalists.
