Under the banner of #BalochistanKitabKarwan, Baloch Students Action Committee(BSAC) held a four-day book fair in different locations of Mand, including Main Bazaar Mand Soro, Government Boys High School Soro, Zubaida Jalal Secondary School, and Government Girls High School Soro.

The stalls displayed a wide variety of books in the Balochi language, covering topics such as philosophy, national history, international history, Gaam (children’s literature published by BSAC), Nawaishth (BSAC’s journal), and various other subjects. In addition to Balochi-language books, there were materials in other languages, representing general areas of knowledge.

On the first day, September 22, 2024, the stall in Main Bazaar Soro drew people from all walks of life, who attended and purchased books from their preferred genres, especially on Baloch history and literature. Additional stalls were set up on September 23, 24, and 25 in Government Boys High School Soro, Zubaida Jalal Secondary School, and Government Girls High School Soro, respectively.

Students displayed significant interest and visited the stalls in large numbers. Both male and female students acquired books of their liking and expressed their gratitude for the initiative, mentioning that it was their first experience visiting such a stall.

Likewise, a book stall was organized by the BSAC Karachi Zone at Karachi University on September 26, where students from diverse backgrounds attended. Teachers, faculty members and professors also visited and appreciated the effort.

BalochistanKitabKarwan, a campaign initiated in 2017 by the Baloch Students Action Committee, seeks to promote a reading culture within Baloch society. Stalls are regularly organized as part of this campaign in different regions where the Baloch nation resides.

According to the Committee’s spokesperson, the BSAC aims to continue hosting book stalls under the banner of #BalochistanKitabKarwan with a broader scope in the future.
