Two elderly brothers allegedly went missing from the Awaran district of Balochistan on Monday.
According to reports, on January 15th, Pakistani forces allegedly forcibly detained the two elderly brothers from the Gishkor area of the district.
The detainees have been identified as Rasool Baksh and Kareem Baksh.
Local sources said that Pakistani forces raided a house in Gishkor and arrested both brothers; since then, their whereabouts remain unknown.
It is pertinent to mention that incidents of enforced disappearances have continuously been reported for the last two decades. In response to these enforced disappearances and human rights violations, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has been on a sit-in protest for the last two months in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. Meanwhile, the Pakistani army in Balochistan allegedly continues to detain people at undisclosed locations.
