At least two Pakistani troops were reportedly killed, and four others were injured in an IED attack on a Pakistani forces convoy on the CPEC highway in the Kech district of Balochistan on Tuesday.
According to reports, unidentified individuals targeted a Pakistan Army convoy with an improvised explosive device (IED) on the CPEC route in the Sami area of Kech. Following the explosion, the forces blocked the road and suspended traffic for any kinds of vehicles.
A local journalist reported that two Pakistani soldiers were killed on the spot, and more than four others were injured. However, Pakistani authorities have not yet provided any details regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, the “pro-independence” Baloch armed group, Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), claimed responsibility for the bombing in a media statement.
BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch stated that “BLA fighters targeted a military convoy, resulting in the killing of two enemy personnel and injuring four others, while the vehicle was completely destroyed in the remote-controlled blast.”
Mr. Baloch further mentioned that in another operation on January 11, BLA fighters intercepted a vehicle carrying rations for the “occupying” Pakistani army in the Galli area of Buleda and seized the ration. “Being civilians, the drivers were warned and released,” Mr. Baloch said.
Jeeyand Baloch added that the BLA has already made it clear to the local people that they should avoid supplying supplies to the enemy army, otherwise they will be responsible for their own loss of life and property.
