On Monday, Prominent Pashtun nationalist leader Manzoor Pashteen was reportedly detained by the Pakistani law-enforcement forces from Balochistan’s Chaman city and was subsequently moved to an undisclosed location.

Manzoor Pashteen, the founder of Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) was on his way to Turbat city from the border town of Chaman in Balochistan when he was reportedly arrested by police after firing on his convoy.

The PTM’s social media team has released a post from Manzoor Pashteen’s “X” account stating that Manzoor Pashteen has been missing since his arrest.
#ManzoorPashteen still not produced in a court despite the passage of two days. If #PTM chief can be abducted & dislocated than how the ordinary ppl will be treated ? Enforced disappearance of #ManzoorPashteen is a question mark for all political people. #WhereIsManzoorPashteen.”

It should be noted that Manzoor Pashteen was in Balochistan to participate in the Chaman sit-in protest. After participating in the Chaman sit-in, he had announced to go to Turbat to take part in the sit-in against CTD “fake” encounters in the Turbat city of Balochistan’s district Kech, but he was detained while on the route.

It’s pertinent to mention that Manzoor Pashteen’s entry into Balochistan has been banned by the Balochistan government several times in the past.
