Fourteen soldiers from the Pakistan Army were killed in an ambush in Balochistan’s Gwadar district on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

The attack took place as the soldiers were traveling between Pasni and Ormara in two vehicles. “A sanitization operation has been initiated in the area to locate and apprehend the assailants,” said the ISPR.

As of yet, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Historically, such attacks in the region have been carried out by Baloch pro-independence groups. Notably, in 2020, the Baloch Raji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), a coalition of Baloch pro-independence groups, claimed responsibility for a similar attack that left fifteen Pakistani soldiers dead and led to the capture of military arms.
