Two individuals have reportedly been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces. Meanwhile, one previously disappeared individual has been released.
On Friday, in the Doli area of Sui tehsil, Dera Bugti district, Pakistani forces allegedly apprehended and forcibly disappeared Wahid Bakhsh, the son of Din Mohammad Bugti, from an army checkpoint.
Simultaneously, an employee of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) identified as Shah Dost Bugti, son of Suri Bugti, was reportedly taken into custody by the Pakistani forces in Dera Bugti.
As per reports, Shah Dost Bugti was seized while returning home after completing his work duty at gate number 2 of the gas field, and his whereabouts have remained undisclosed ever since. It is worth noting that Shah Dost Bugti’s brother Ali Dost Bugti and uncle, Pathan son of Marzian Bugti, are already in the custody of the security forces.
In a contrasting development, Safian, the son of Hanif Jamaldini, who had been “missing” for nine months in Noshki, was successfully released and reunited with his family.
The reported instances of forced disappearances and extrajudicial actions by security forces in Balochistan continue to be a matter of grave concern, with human rights organizations calling for a thorough investigation into these cases and for the protection of the rights and safety of individuals in the region.
