In the vicinity of the Bela area of Balochistan, specifically Kona Dopir and its neighboring areas, an unfortunate incident has occurred. The toll of this incident includes the tragic loss of two lives – a mother and her daughter. Additionally, the incident has left over 37 individuals in the region affected by distressing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea.
According to reports, people of all ages and genders, including men, women, and children, are among those who have been impacted by gastroenteritis.
Nine individuals are currently in critical condition, prompting the Health Department of Lasbela and UC Chairman of the Jam Yousafabad, Haji Abdul Sattar Jamot to mobilize their teams to the affected location. Their mission is to provide medical assistance to those afflicted by the gastro outbreak.
As per the locals, with no government hospitals present in the impacted zone and the absence of accessible roads to connect with nearby cities, the Bela area faces considerable challenges.
The Deputy District Health Officer (DHO) of Bela, Dr. Abdul Hameed Baloch, has highlighted the emergence of a gastro epidemic in the region. Reports from various sources including Malik Mansoor, PPHI manager Rehan Baloch, and Dr. Abdul Hakeem Lasi, in charge of Edhi Balochistan, reveal that the outbreak has resulted in the unfortunate demise of two individuals and the infection of 37 others in the Kona Dopir area of Bela.
The noteworthy aspect is that the Peer Konnaru region comprises of mountainous terrains and natural river pathways, situated between Bela and Uthal. In this area, there is an absence of government health facilities and road infrastructure to connect Bela and Uthal cities.
