During the month of June, traffic accidents in Balochistan claimed 27 lives and injured 1095, as per the data released by the Medical Emergency Response Center (MERC) 1122.

According to the data, 739 accidents took place on Balochistan’s highways during the month, with a significant number occurring on the N25 Windar and Lasbela routes.
In particular, 107 accidents were reported on the Windar-Lasbela route alone, leading to 124 injuries. Medics from the MERC 1122 centers in Windar and Tiara were dispatched promptly to these accident scenes, providing essential first aid.

The report incorporates data from several key highways across Balochistan, including Lakpass, Mastung, Kalat, Kalat-Baghbana, Khuzdar-Drakalaw, Khuzdar-Korado, Khuzdar-Tiaro, Lasbela Winder, Lasbela-Saranan, Pishin-Chaman, Chaman N50 Ziarat Cross, Pishin-Nisai, Qila Saifullah-Shanki, Qila Saifullah-Badin Zai, Zhob-Manikhawa, Sherani-N85 Gidar, Surab-N65 Gokurt, Kachi-Bakhtiar Abad, Sibi-Cattle Farm, Jaffar Abad, and N70 Mukhtar, Loralai.

The high incidence of accidents highlights the pressing need for improvements in road safety in Balochistan. The challenging road conditions in the region likely play a significant role in the high accident rates. Therefore, it is imperative for authorities to prioritize road maintenance and enforce traffic regulations more stringently in an effort to reduce these distressing accident rates.
