During the military operations, several people have reportedly forcibly disappeared allegedly by the Pakistani security forces in Dera Bugti and Awaran. Due to the military siege and cellular network suspension in those areas, the extent of forced disappearances and fatalities is unknown yet.

Enforced disappearances in Dera Bugti

In the last 24 hours, the Pakistan Army has raided various areas in Sui tehsil of Dera Bugti district and abducted several people — four of them have been identified so far. Whose identities are, Munshi son of Roshan Hotkani, Swagal s/o Panhal Bugti, Hussainu s/o Bakhtiar Bugti, and Dadan s/o Shehan Bugti. Munshi was allegedly detained from his house during the ongoing military operation near Sui Airport in the Dera Bugti district.

It should be mentioned that Munshi’s father Roshan and brother Ahmed Ali were already abducted by the Pakistani forces. Later, Roshan Bugti was released. However, Ahmed Ali is still missing.

The abductees from Dera Bugti also include a Levies Force personnel who was summoned to Sui Cantonment reportedly by the Pakistani forces and haven’t been heard since.

The other abductee from Dera Bugti, Dadan’s family told the media that their son is employed in Levies and that he is the only support of their house whose life is in danger and the higher authorities should play a role in his recovery.

It should be recalled that on June 23, 2013, Dadan’s father, Shayhan Bugti, was abducted and allegedly killed by the Pakistan Army along with six others in the Mat area.
