At least eight teachers have been killed in a shooting at a high school in Parachinar, the only Shia-majority area in Northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
According to the police, unidentified people opened fire in the staff room of the school. After the firing incident, an emergency has been imposed in the hospitals.
All the teachers were on examination duty when the shooting took place. Four of the deceased were from the Shia community.
It should be mentioned that earlier today, a teacher was shot dead in Parachinar.
The teacher, Muhammad Sharif, who was shot dead in a moving vehicle, also belonged to Teri Mengal School.
The bodies of the deceased teachers were moved to Parachinar Hospital. In the wake of the incident, the ongoing matriculation examinations conducted by the Kohat Board have been postponed.
