According to CTD spokesperson, the dead terrorists belonged to the outlawed Islamic State (IS) Khurasan, who identified as Fazal ur Rehman. He was involved in a series of terrorist attacks on security forces, bomb explosions in Balochistan, the spokesperson mentioned.

Police shifted the dead body to civil hospital Quetta for postmortem. Security forces reached the area and launched a search operation after the incident.

Security forces claimed to recover arms and ammunition from the spot of the incident.

Two security personnel also sustained injuries during an exchange of fire with terrorists, CTD sources said.

It is to be noted that CTD has been accused of killing already detained people in the past in “fake encounters”. However, the aforementioned incident has not been ascertained yet that the deceased was a detainee or was killed in a real confrontation with CTD.
